Learning Platform
If your parents want to know more about the Learning Platform show them this page. The Learning Platform or Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) are different names for the same thing. The government wants all children by 2008 to have access to a personal learning web space. A place where they can access materials from school at home. This has been going on for some years in universities and secondary schools but now the government wants this extended to all primary schools. There are challenges associated with this aim, not least the fact that not all children have access to the internet at home nor are all parents happy about safety issues with the internet. Our Learning Platform software has been provided by Luton LEA and is filtered and monitored as is our internet access within the school. If you would like more information on internet safety please CLICK HERE. Hillborough has introduced the learning platform to all children. It's use will be kept as simple as possible in these first few years and children who do not have, for whatever reason, access to the internet at home will be given opportunities to use it at school. |
